It was an obvious cash-in. Ubisoft had initially stated it had no plans for an AC game in 2011. Then there was a mobile AC game called Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy, which was about Ezio travelling to Masyaf. This game was quietly cancelled and suddenly they had AC: Revelations announced, and brought in Alex Amancio to wing the game in just ONE
The Assassins aren't the good guys. However you look at it, Ezio is an anti-hero. Throughout the whole series, neither the Assassins or the Templars/Brotherhood/Order are on the right side of history. They all do terrible things for their own ideological reasons. They do address this by frequently having allies turn or change sides mid-story.
Revelations. I don't know if I remember correctly, cause it's been a while, but there wasn't much to do in terms of "open world" but the creed mechanic. It was perfect, recruiting new assassins, sending them on missions just to get side quests with them when they leveled. Also I enjoyed the "tower defense" thing. Assassin's Creed is a series all about history - well, that and stabbing people in the neck. Assassin's Creed Revelations (2011 - PC, PS3, Xbox 360) all of this makes AC2 feel as good as bnxPD. 68 246 471 189 979 356 405 101
