#2 Transmissions are all over the board. Mine went out at 100K but that was completely my fault. I wasn't using the parking brake and over time stressed the case enough to crack it. Once replaced I drove it for another 170K without any transmission problems. I forget how many miles Oilhammer has on his, I want to say 200K+ without a problem. I purchased VCDS from ross-tech and did the auto scan. I believe the issue is the TCM. I removed all the seats and carpet before running the autoscan, thats why the airbag issues came up on it I believe. The main issue is the TCM from what I am seeing. The code I am worried about is P0603. The old TCM was wet along with all of the wiring going

It's incomplete, but goes through a good bit and gives an idea of scope. Thought I’d document a manual swap on the 1.8T for the B5/B5.5 folks. The car rocked backwards (I normally leave the gearshift in reverse when parked, plus the parking break was on), the engine died, and the clutch petal stayed on the floor (not good!).
This powerful engine even outperformed the old 4.0-liter W8 in the B5.5 Passat and can launch the B6 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. 2009 Volkswagen Passat's automatic transmission. A few of us have been "talking" about upgrading from an automatic trans to a 6 speed manual trans in our B5.5 Passat's for a few years. This came up again while we were at the N.A.I.A.S.
